The Grinch that stole Valentine

Its valentines day in ten days time.You can say i am the Grinch that stole Valentine. You see i have come to realize that if your partner only does lovely romantic thing gestures for you  only one day out of 365 then you really have to rethink that relationship. And in my lovely country babes have taken it up a notch. Why oh why do you want your boyfriend to buy you a new blackberry (in my mothers voice *gini mere nke e we kita?*) What happened to the one you have now? 

I dont know where this assumption came from that your boyfriend is supposed to take over the role of your parents to provide for you. If you didnt meet him would you not fend for yourself? or ask mom or dad for your needs? If he is generous enough to give you gifts that is well and good. But it is not something you demand. Then again i digress.

Back to valentine, Love and Romance is not meant just for February 14th. I broke up with my first boyfriend on February 13th when i was 17...lol. poor boy, I thought he would die. But i just wasnt into the relationship anymore(I dont even know why i started it in the first place, peer pressure i guess) and if i had waited till after valentine it would have looked like i waited to get all the gifts he got me before i dumped him. Plus the pressure of sex was just too much. It was something that was expected after you had received the gifts.
In University it was a day to wear red and white....i cringe when i see photos i took on vals day.
That not withstanding if i dont see my Hermes perfume wrapped up nicely somebody is going to be hungry and eat Indomie without egg for one week.....just saying. lol

Someone i know said she feels bad for people who dont have partners for valentine. And i was like seriously, you dont feel bad for children in orphanages but you feel sorry for someone because she doesnt have a boyfriend to buy her stuff on valentine. when are we going to get our priorities straight? If you want perfumes and chocolates please buy it for yourself.
